CSKA Defends Title In Kazan Thriller!

Congratulations to our players Vitaly Fridzon and Viktor Khryapa as they were important part of CSKA Moscow 2015/2016 VTB League campaign!

CSKA defeated UNICS Kazan on the road in Game 4 of the playoff finals, 81-74. Strong defense gave the visitors a 14-point lead in the 1st quarter and the Army Men retained control for much of the contest. Arturas Milaknis helped Kazan trim the deficit in the 4th, but six points from Nando De Colo in the final minute was all CSKA needed to defend its title, winning the league for the 6th time! Our players scored 8 points each in the final clash!

The show must go on! Unics 1 - CSKA 2

UNICS Kazan defeated CSKA Moscow at home in Game 3 of the playoff finals, 79-74. After a competitive first half, Keith Langford guided UNICS to a double-digit lead in the 3rd quarter, hanging on for victory in the 4th. Kazan snaps a 10-game losing streak to CSKA, handing the Army Men their first defeat of the postseason, and force a Game 4 at the Basket Hall on June 8. Vadim Panin had 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block for UNICS. Likhodei added 3 points and Gubanov 2. Viktor Khryapa had 10 points and 5 rebounds while Vitaly Fridzon scored 7 for CSKA.

CSKA One Step From Title

CSKA-V-VCSKA Moscow defeated UNICS Kazan, 90-77, in Game 2 of the finals. The score was close for three quarters. Desperate for a win, UNICS threw everything it had at CSKA, but couldn't break down the reigning champs. Trailing by three, the visitors gave up a big run to start the 4th quarter. CSKA went on to win, securing a 2-0 lead as the series shifts to Kazan. Viktor Khryapa had an amazing game. Despite a pair of broken bones this season, the CSKA captain is back. He played smart fundamental basketball against UNICS, helping out on both ends of the court. he finished with 19 points, six rebounds and two steals. Vitaly Fridzon added 1 point for CSKA. On the other end Petr Gubanov had 10 points and Vadim Panin 5.

CSKA wins the opener

CSKA Moscow defeated UNICS Kazan at home in Game 1 of the playoff finals, 84-76. After a competitive first half, CSKA put together a big 3rd quarter to put the game away. UNICS did cut the deficit to seven midway through the 4th, but it was too little too late on the road. Vitaly Fridzon exploded with 16 points in just 20 minutes on the court. Viktor Khryapa added 4 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. On the other side Vadim Panin scored 8 points, Valerii Likhodei added 5 and 5 rebounds and Petr Gubanov scored 2 points.
